  • How long does it take to get my order?

    Your order can take anywhere from 2 - 6 weeks depending on your products. If you request special packaging that is not a standard stock item, or have special ingredients in a product that we don't stock, then it may take longer.

  • What are my options for products?

    We can create a custom formula for your product or use one of our stock base formulas and then just add the scent that you want.
    We also offer advanced Essential Oil blending so that you can have a great natural fragrance for your product.
    We make almost anything that you may want, we have basic lotions, creams, shower gels, bubble baths, to shower gel/ bubble bath combinations, body scrubs, body butters, mists, serums, gels, to very specific applications.

  • What kind of packaging can I use?

    We offer almost any bottle, jar or plastic that is out on the market. We carry a great selection of packaging to fit almost every ones needs. We can help you select the right package for your company. if we don't have a package that you like, we can also do research to see if we can locate it. Certain packaging requires that it be purchased in very high quantities and if that is the package you want then there will be a minimum order amount for that product.
    If you wish to use your own packaging then that is possible also, just send us your package and we will look into it.

  • Will the cost be low enough to be competitive in the market?

    Yes, our pricing is low enough that you will be able to sell your product in today's market and be competitive. We will work with you to make sure that our pricing meets your target market requirements. This is why we offer a wide range of products from simple to extravagant. Control of the final price is entirely up to you.  If you need the prices lower it's a simple matter of changing the ingredients to accommodate your needs.

  • What is your payment policy on orders?

    1. All orders must be paid in advance of production.

  • Do you offer samples?

    Yes, as we go through the process of creating products for you we will supply samples of each and every version that is made and continue to do that until you are happy with the final result.

  • What if there is a raw material or fragrance that I want to supply?

    For the most part you can supply raw materials or a fragrances and we can incorporate it into the product, but this is determined on a case by case basis and the incoming shipments will be subject to our normal receiving procedures, including basic microbial testing.  Fees apply.

  • Can I get my formula tested to make sure it is preserved correctly?

    Yes, you can have you formula tested at any point as many times as you want. This service is billed out at $95 for each test to ensure adequate, immediate, preservation.  You may also have your product Challenge Tested, for long term evaluation.  The fee for Challenge Testing is billed at $600.00.  Both fees subject to change and should be confirmed at the time of contract.

  • Can you reverse engineer a already made product?

    Yes, we have experienced formulation experts that can reproduce a product based on the product, and reproducing to match the aesthetics and performance or we can break the formula down chemically. There is no guarantee that we will be successful but most of the time we can reproduce the product to meet the desired performance and aesthetics.  When a request to reverse engineer a product is being made for a product still on the market we will require a minimum of four changes in order to respect the original developers work.  

  • What if all I want is a fragrance, can you do that?

    Yes, if you want a natural fragrance.  We do not work with synthetic fragrances and do not have that experience.  We do have talented, experienced, fragrance developers that can handle making almost any essential oil based fragrance.  This will make the fragrance a little more expensive but it can add benefits to your product other than just the fragrance.

  • What about a price quote before we get started?

    When considering private label and manufacturing companies the most important thing you need to do is to find a company whose philosophy, ethics and quality meet your needs. We so often get requests for blind quotes, and, because the price of each product is based on the actual formula behind the product a quote without a formula is impossible. The thing to consider is that with a private label / customer developed product the ultimate decision ont he product is yours to make.  We do have the buying power to keep the cost of ingredients very low.  Within the Aroma Alternatives® network of companies, we own of the the largest wholesale supply companies, with some of the most competitive prices on the market.  All purchasing is done through manufactures, at manufacturing quantities... therefore when your product is priced you will be getting the best possible deal on the ingredients that will go into your product.  The price is ultimately dictated by you, the customer, because the price will only be set once you have agreed that the product has been developed to your specifications, i. e., if the initial quote is beyond your budget several things may be considered to lower the price; such as ... variation in ingredients, formulation ratios, quantity purchases, alternate packaging. 

  • How do I know what I will be charged for my products?

    Throughout the development process you will receive email quotes, but, the actual final price will always be the prices that are reflected, under your account profile, on the website.

  • What about label requirements?

    We will help you with what you need to put on a label with regard to the actual ingredients. As a business you will be required to follow all regulations and guidelines set by the FDA and you must be in compliance. You can always go to FDA's website and read CFR 701 to see what is all required.

  • How do I get labels created?
  • Top

    We can refer you to one of several graphics artist that can create exceptional labels for you. You just get in contact with them and they will design the labels based on your criteria.

  • Where do I get my labels printed?

    We have local printing companies that we can get you in contact with to have you labels printed. They don't require large runs to have your printing done and they have experience with the demands for professional personal care product labels.

  • What does private label mean?

    Under the private label contract you will be allowed to:  have us develop and / or produce your product, fill that product into the packaging that you choose, and then apply your own company label. pick any package you wish to use and you can put your own product label on your products. 

  • What is required to do private label?

    Private label is a very intense, complicated process between us and the company that is wishing to use it. We offer low minimums so that the small business can afford to launch their own product line. There is no minimum after the first order.  There is a $5,000 retainer to cover the costs of research and development.  Any unused retainer may be applied to the first order.  The first order minimum is $3,000. After that all we require $5,000 in annual sales to maintain private label status.

  • Can I cancel my order?

    Private Label orders canceled after 24 hours of placing the order will be subject to a 50% restocking fee since it is a product for just your company and usually can not be sold to any other company.

  • Will my product be exclusive to my company?

    Under the private label agreement any formula created or altered will be exclusive to your company as long as you meet all of the requirements of the private label contract.

    If you use a stock base or fragrance then it will not be exclusive because there are already other company's using those stock formulas. If you really want an exclusive product, then you need to pay for the research and development to alter a base or develop an entirely new product.

  • What is your return policy?

    Our return policy is simple. We believe in customer service unlike many other companies. We want your use of Aroma Alternatives® products to be the best possible experience you have had in a long time. All orders need to be checked within 2 business days of receiving the order and reported back to us to let us know if there is an issue with your order.

    Orders may be canceled within the first 24 hours of placing an order.

    After 24 hours of placing the order any refund will be subject to a 50% restocking fee since it is a product for just your company and usually can't be sold to another company.
    Just send us an email telling us about your problem and we will work hard to make it right.

  • What is your policy on Private Label?

    Companies placing private label and special orders may elect to use their own shipping carrier which must be pre paid by that company.

    Customer is responsible for checking their shipment within 2 business days of receipt to report any shipping issues. Once notified a return authorization # will be issued. This return authorization # is required for all returns. 

    Companies using private label services will be given Net 30 payment terms upon approval. If a company is given net 30 terms and fails to pay, any product in the possession of Aroma Alternatives® will be forfeit to satisfy the debt of the order value. This will include the minimum order requirements and / or surcharge of any and all private label orders.

    We won't be able to continue doing business if we don't do business wisely. While the policies may seem strict they are in the best interest of both Aroma Alternatives® and its customers.  Due to the nature of Private Label Merchandising once an order is placed the company placing the order is responsible for payment of that order.

  • What does Contract Manufacturing mean?

    Contract Manufacturing is where Aroma Alternatives® may use your formula or one of ours to produce a product just like in Private Label but under Contract Manufacturing all we do it put it into bulk packaging and you must fill and label your individual units. 

  • What are the requirements for Contract Manufacturing?

    If you are asking us to produce your formulation then there is a Research and Development fee for us to run a proofing sample of your formula.  We will then produce the sample based directly off your formula and instructions using our ingredients and processing equipment to see if there is a difference in the final product.  We will send the sample to you.  If it is approved then we will set up the pricing of that product.  If it is not approved you can provide us with the modification or you can have us make the modification.  The Research and Development fees will apply for all development.  You will maintain ownership whether you make the modification or we make the modification.  A formula is not a list of ingredients.  A formula is a list of ingredients with exact amounts of each ingredient to be used.  There will be a minimum order requirement that depends on the product we are making.

  • What if I have a formula but it needs work, can you help?

    Yes, we can do the research to make your product stable, more effective and so forth. Standard Research and Development fees apply. Please read the Contract Manufacturing contract to figure out how this affects your formula.

  • What is your return policy?

    Our return policy is simple. We believe in customer service unlike many other companies. We want your use of Aroma Alternatives® products to be the best possible experience you have had in a long time. All orders need to be checked within 2 business days and reported back to us to let us know if there is an issue with your order.

    Orders may be canceled within the first 24 hours of placing an order.

    After 24 hours you can't cancel your order, once production begins this product can only be used for your company and that would cause us to throw away product.
    Just send us an email telling us about your problem and we will work hard to make it right.

  • What if I want to go to another company to have my formulas manufactured?

  • You are welcome to do that.  We can not make any guarantee that you, or another manufacturer, will be able to re-produce the formula.  We will provide only 1 hour of free technical support to you, or the other manufacturer.  After that free 1 hour, the normal R&D fee will apply.  You will be required to sign a "Formula Release" agreement prior to the release of the formula.
  • What if I decide to not continue paying R&D fees for my formula development?
  • It is up to you to determine how much your formula development is worth.  Once you have reached a point that you do not want to invest any further we will cancel the project.  You may in the future, if your circumstances change, have us continue the development as soon as your R&D is paid.
